Lynne Walz

Lynne Walz is a nominee for governor of Nebraska, with the election scheduled for November 3, 2026. Walz grew up on a small farm outside Fremont, Nebraska, in a working-class family. After graduating from Arlington High School, she returned to school as a nontraditional student and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Midland Lutheran College in 1994. Before entering politics, Walz worked with people with developmental disabilities, taught elementary school in Fremont, and later worked in real estate. She was elected to the Nebraska legislature in 2016 and represented the Fremont area from 2017 to 2025, where she focused her work on education, support for families, and bipartisan problem-solving. In her campaign, Walz has emphasized improving schools, supporting local communities, and making Nebraska more affordable for working families.
