Cyndi Munson is a nominee for governor of Oklahoma in the election scheduled for November 3, 2026. Born in Okinawa, Japan, into an Air Force family, Munson grew up in Oklahoma and earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. Before running for office, she worked in the nonprofit and advocacy sectors, serving in  roles that focused on child welfare and community issues. Munson was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2014 and has represented Oklahoma City’s District 85 since 2015, becoming the chamber’s minority leader in 2022. In her campaign, Munson has emphasized education, access to health care, and increased economic opportunities across demographics, as well as making state government more responsive to the needs of working families.

A Los Angeles-native, Alison moved to New York to attend NYU where she studied international development and documentary filmmaking. After graduating, she was awarded a Fulbright grant to research migration patterns during the Brazilian Belle Epoque in Manaus, Brazil. She is currently pursuing a dual Master's of International Affairs/Juris Doctor degree with the Colin Powell School and CUNY Law.
