Griselda Romero
Griselda Romero is a candidate for governor of Illinois in the 2026 election, to be held on November 3. A Chicago native, Romero obtained a bachelor’s degree in counseling from Roosevelt University and a master’s degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. As a bicultural licensed professional counselor, she has spent the last decade in roles that support community development, with a particular focus on crisis mental health. Romero’s campaign emphasizes unity across disparate demographics and ideologies, securing Medicare for all, and ensuring a living wage.
